Savvy Scoop #4: Big Energy
A selection of big bags and big earrings. Well, they're not really THAT big.
Just admit it to yourself and get over with it - size sometimes really does matter. Size matters in today’s edition of the Savvy Scoop, too. I’ll show you a selection of big bags and big vintage earrings I’ve been wearing. Savvy Scoop isn’t here to make you shop more, so today, I’ll show you some things I already own, plus just a few shopping suggestions. Here we go.
Big Bags
The battered bag saga is over. I bought a new bag. It’s a timeless piece from Dragon Diffusion I found at Salt Clothing last week while on a work trip to Rovinj, Croatia. Dragon Diffusion is a brand from Belgium, but their bags are handmade in India with natural leather, a byproduct of the meat industry, and vegetable tanned. I wrote about leather on Tuesday, so I’m not going to get into why this matters to me again. Read it here. I chose a shade of brown because it goes well with a lot of stuff I own, it’s a timeless color, and I already have a black bag. Yes, it’s ruined, but I’m going to get it fixed (I will write about it here, I promise). I snooped around for some other options. All the new bags within the selection are made with leather from the food industry and vegetable tanned.
Big earrings
It’s weird being 30. Everyone told me it’s a decade in which you finally find yourself, and even though I can’t confirm it yet, I can say that I’m beginning to realize what they were talking about. I’m finally starting to wear colors, something I wouldn’t dare before. And a part of that is wearing colorful earrings, especially vintage ones. I got a lovely pink pair from Mango Sticky Rice and showed them to a friend, who then gifted me two more. She’s not wearing them anymore since, and I quote, she now has a mullet which is too much on its own. Here are some earring options I love.
Later today, I’m sending out a survey about your favorite topics on Stitch. I feel like I've been hanging around in your inbox a little too much this month, and after six months of writing on Substack, it's time for reflection. I hope you'll be happy to participate and help me come up with the next chapter for Stitch.
