Welcome to the first edition of the Savvy Scoop, the third weekly issue of the Stitch newsletter that will come to your inbox every Friday. It’s a shopping issue containing the greatest secondhand, vintage, and new but sustainable discoveries I come across online. Savvy Scoop isn’t here to make you shop more. I simply want to share ideas on how to shop better, smarter, and, consequently, more sustainable. Besides that, well, I guess I just needed another excuse to share my thoughts on clothes with you.
This week I’ve been thinking about the necessity for the grown-up skirt in the world of Gen Z fashion. I dived deeply into the second-hand market of old Prada shoes and looked for some funky details.
Grown-Up Skirt
So much fashion today is shaped by Gen Z trends. Skirts are being slashed, waists are being dropped, and cutouts are becoming ubiquitous. And I just long for a fine, grown-up skirt. So, I went on a quest and found some gorgeous vintage pieces. The prices are reasonable, and the garments are extraordinary.
Funky details
Lately, I’ve been experimenting with statement earrings. I got these huge 70’s ones from Mango Sticky Rice Vintage that resemble a pink bouquet. It feels almost subversive to wear them over a simple grey T-shirt. Here are some funky details I found online.
Old Prada Shoes
I’m never not thinking about Prada. I’m fascinated by Miuccia’s extraordinary ability to translate womanhood into clothes. Currently, I’m searching for old Prada shoes. Not to buy, just to observe. I love all of her kitten heel models. They work with everything and can instantly turn you into an elegant creature. The satin mules remind me of Sex & The City, and the woven ones are a true marvel.
